Diversity
All of the ways that we differ, such as age, race, gender, ethnicity, education, thinking styles, religion, nationality, and sexual orientation.
Equity
Where policies and practices are free from bias (intentional or unintentional) and accommodations are made to support individual needs so that everyone has equal access and opportunity to succeed.
Inclusion
An environment where differences are valued, where everyone has the opportunity to develop skills and talents in ways that are consistent with our values and business objectives.
CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion™ Pledge
Our CEO, Sean Keohane, joined more than 1,000 CEOs in signing the pledge. By signing onto the commitment, Cabot Corporation is promising to take action to cultivate a workplace where diverse perspectives and experiences are welcomed and respected and where employees feel encouraged to speak up and take part in constructive conversations around issues of DE&I.

- Supporting a dual focus on global and local approaches to build DE&I.
- Actively integrating DE&I into our culture, our daily practices and behaviors.
- Our global DE&I Council is a diverse cross-representation of our businesses, functions and regions, who serve to inform our DE&I strategy, help shape our policies and practices and engage in global and local efforts to help us achieve our goals.
- Establishing an understanding of certain key concepts, such as inclusive leadership and creating safe spaces as a core focus of development for our leaders.
- Evaluating our practices and policies to ensure they are fair, equitable and meet the needs of our diverse workforce.
- Charitable giving and engaging with our communities through the Cabot Corporation Foundation, which supports over $1 million annually in altruistic donation towards global causes and local community engagement.
- Locally engaging our employees worldwide to pursue common DE&I goals together, including what is most meaningful to them locally.
- Cultivating and establishing Cabot Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to build community, raise awareness, support recruitment and development efforts as well as sponsor community outreach efforts.
