Cabot HengYeCheng Performance Materials (Inner Mongolia) Co., Ltd, is a joint venture founded by Cabot (China) Limited and Mongolia Hengyecheng Silicone Co., Ltd (HYC) which was commissioned in June 2019. As a leading world-class manufacturer of fumed silica, we deliver high performance products that meet performance requirements in a variety of applications, including coatings, adhesives and construction.
Wuhai site safety operation for 7 years without a recordable incident
The critical role of safety in our culture is exemplified through our safety efforts during construction and operation of our 8000 t/y fumed silica manufacturing facility in Wuhai, China.
From the start of the project to its recent completion, safety was a key focus for our teams. We completed the project having achieved nearly 1.6 million work hours without a recordable injury amongst our employees and contractors. And by beginning of 2024, we have achieved nearly 2.80 million work hours without a recordable injury amongst our employees and contractors. This performance is attributed to plant intrinsic safety, strong safety management and implementation, which included a high level of risk assessment, detailed safety plans and contractor supervision, optimization of construction resources, and thorough safety training. We implemented RC14001 system and safety standardization management. The safety culture of "drive to zero" has been deeply rooted in the minds of all personnel and has helped demonstrate our commitment to safety to the surrounding community and our industry peers.
